What is the right choice for you and your family? The decision to choose cremation over burial is very personal. We as a cremation provider cannot make this decision for you.
What we can do is help educate you and guide you through this process. Many people know that they want cremation, but do not understand all of the options available to them. Direct cremation is always going to be the least expensive option, whether you select a traditional funeral home or strictly a cremation provider.
If your choice is cremation and you are evaluating providers be careful to look at the pricing carefully. In the state of Florida, cremations can be provided under a FE (Funeral Home) or DDE (Cremation Service) license.
The difference between the two is that DDE license can only perform direct cremations. That are not allowed to have memorial services or visitations or what you may consider a traditional type of service.
So when you are comparing pricing, it is very easy to spot who is the actual cremation provider. It will be the company with one price, just like here at A Direct Cremations of $695.00. If you in your effort to find a cremation provider and they include pricing for memorial services, etc realize they are really funeral homes.
In some cases that may be a better choice for you. “I want a simple cremation” has different meanings for everyone. To some that’s a traditional funeral service with cremation to follow and to a lot it is a simple cremation at the lowest cost and convenience to the family.
The one thing that I would hazard you, is that DDE cannot up sell services and additional merchandise (like a ceremonial casket for a viewing), because direct cremation is the only service we can provide.

But the real reason for my comment today is to thank you for your support while we took care of my dad during his last few days. Your posts are really informative and help us keep a positive point of view. His last days were awesome and he was joking around right up until the last day, and was surrounded with love.
My mom and dad wanted their ashes spread in two different states! So although we held their Celebrations in tandem, the ashes are going to different parts of the country, per their wishes.
Again, just thank you for being there and being so supportive of all of us who have to make our decisions about loved ones and our own personal arrangements. I really appreciate your sincerity.
