Brian Keith Eakes

Brian Keith Eakes, of Morriston, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, at a hospital in Gainesville. Born on January 31, 1972, in Kettering, Ohio, Brian lived life with a free spirit, a love for the Florida sunshine, and a heart that never met a stranger.

Though he completed culinary school and had a passion for good food and creativity, Brian found his true calling as a skilled boat builder in the marine industry. He took pride in working with his hands and helping create vessels meant for life on the water, a fitting career for someone who loved the coastal lifestyle so deeply.

Brian enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life feel full: days spent at the beach with the ocean breeze rolling in, music always playing somewhere nearby, and "cruisin'" the open roads with his beloved wife, Lindsay, making memories together one mile at a time. He carried an easygoing spirit and a legendary personality that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Len Eakes.

Brian leaves behind his loving daughter, Jordan Brunette of Ohio; his devoted wife, Lindsey Eakes of Florida; his mother, Varita Lee Patrick of New Port Richey; along with many other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory and the laughter, stories, and good times he shared so freely.
