KLINE, David William (Zippy) of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Flushing, MI, age 71, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021 in Gainesville, FL surrounded by his loving family. David was born in Flint, MI on March 7, 1950, son of Lucille & William Kline. He married Marjie Markee on June 6, 1981. David graduated from Flushing High School and then promptly joined the US Navy where he served 4 years proudly. He returned from the Navy and worked for General Motors in Flint, MI for 33 years and retired in 2008. David loved going to Long Lake in Hale, MI on the weekends where he loved riding his Victory motorcycle with many friends from the Eagle Riders. He was known on the lake to be the best damn tube puller. After retirement, David and Marjie moved to Jacksonville, FL where he joined the American Legion Post 283 and promptly fell in love with another rider family. He loved his family fiercely. He is survived by his wife Marjie; son Jason (Carrie); daughter Cassie (Jeff); daughter Stephanie (Luke); grandchildren Courtney, Kyle, Jacob, Abel and Emmitt; siblings, Glennis (John) Bontrager; Beverly (Ardel-deceased) Brannen; Sue (Les) Walling; many nieces and nephews; AND his adopted dog Sammie, who was his sidekick.

So sorry to all of Dave’s family. I went to school with Dave and we rode the same school bus. Haven’t seen him since my graduation in 1965. He was a great friend then. May he Rest In Peace in Heaven with Jesus.
Condolences on the passing of your Dad. I didn’t know him very well as I didn’t move to Flushing until my Jr year. But what I do remember he was a great man.
