Dretha (Dee) Lancaster, 92, of Summerfield, Florida, and a long time Garrison, New York resident, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Sunday, December 2, 2018, in Summerfield, Florida.
Born on September 29, 1926 in Garrison, NY, she was the daughter of Frederick and Grace (Lent) Turner of Garrison, NY. She was married in March 1946, in Peekskill, New York, to Russell Lancaster, who pre- deceased her in 1987.
She proudly resided in Garrison, NY in a country home built by both her father and her husband.
An 85+ year resident of Garrison, NY, Dretha moved to Florida one day before her 89th birthday.
She worked for many years as a seamstress at Skyline in Peekskill and Beacon, NY.
When living in Garrison, Dretha was a member of the Graymoor Catholic Church , community and a member of the Cold Spring Seniors’ group.
Survivors include her children, Patricia Lancaster, of Summerfield, FL, who has resided with and cared for her mother for many years, and Russell Craig Lancaster, (wife, Rebecca), of Venice, FL, who has been instrumental in helping to provide for her needs.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
