Matthew Michael McDonough, age 70 , died at the E T Yorke Hospice Care Center in Gainesville, FL onJuly 28, 2023.Son of Michael Francis McDonough and Maria Dolores Fazzolari, He was born in Brooklyn, NY. Hegraduated high school in Brick, NJ in 1973. He went on to earn his Hand Engravers and Jewelry Repairdegrees at Bowman Technical School in Lancaster, PA. In 1973 he earned his Graduate Gemologistdegree at the Gemological Institute of America in California. Mr. McDonough moved to New Orleans, LAwhere he met his wife Bonnie Elise Long. They were married in New Jersey in 1978 and had twochildren, Ashley and Shannon, before living with their family in Stowe, Vermont and College Station, TX.He worked for 30 years as a private sector business owner in multiple industries and retired fromCollege Station ISD in Texas as a GIS Analyst in 2018.Mr. McDonough loved to fly fish, cook, and go on adventures. He was a member of the Masonic Lodgeand Stowe Volunteer Fire Department in Stowe Vermont. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie McDonoughof Gainesville, FL, daughters Ashley Rodriguez and spouse Douglas Rodriguez, Shannon Knox and spouseLee Knox and five grandchildren. He is also survived by one sibling, nephews, cousins, and many lovingfriends. He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorial services and Celebration of Life will be private.
