Rhea Lynn Armentrout

Mar 25, 1965 — May 15, 2026

Rhea Lynn Armentrout, age 61, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2026. Born on March 25, 1965, Rhea lived a life marked by faith, compassion, dedication, and love for her family and community.

A 1983 graduate of Valdosta High School, Rhea continued her education at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, where she earned her Associate's Degree with honors in cosmetology. Her passion for education and serving others led her to become an instructor at the very college from which she graduated, where she poured wisdom, encouragement, and knowledge into the lives of countless students.

Above all else, Rhea was a woman of unwavering faith and a faithful member of Azalea City Church of God. She loved the Lord deeply and lived her life as a reflection of His love and grace. Her church family knew her as someone with a caring heart, a joyful spirit, and a servant's attitude that touched many lives.

Rhea treasured her family and found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved most. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Karie Armentrout; her sons, Andrew Smith and Matthew Smith; her son-in-law, Joseph Hays; her cherished grandchildren, Trenton Smith, Christopher Browning, and Alexzander Raines; her parents, James and Carolyn Minton; her sister, Marie Carroll; and several nieces and nephews, Ashley Sharp, Chris King, Josh Covington, Jazmine Khalfani, Dakota Holts, Jordan McQueen, and Hermione Carroll who adored her playful spirit and warm heart.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Katilyn Smith.

Rhea had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and making memories with family and friends. Her laughter was contagious, her kindness genuine, and her presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A memorial service celebrating Rhea's life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Azalea City Church of God with Pastor Brett Jarriel officiating.

Though her earthly journey has ended, the impact of Rhea's life will live on in the hearts of those she loved so dearly. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
