Samuel Curtis Head, better known as "Junior" to just about everyone who knew him, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at his home in Homosassa, Florida. Born on March 28, 1956, in Brooksville, FL, to Joyce and Curtis Head, Sam was raised in Homosassa and later lived in southern Louisiana before returning home to retire.
Sam was a true son of Florida. Whether it was airboats, motorcycles, or just tearing down a dirt road, he lived with a rebel's heart, a sharp tongue, and a grin that meant trouble was usually close behind. Sam never turned down a chance to laugh, raise a little hell, or hit the road. His life was full of tomfoolery, good times, and unapologetic mischief and he wouldn't have had it any other way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce Lyles Maddox and Curtis Head, and his beloved wife, Consuelo "Connie" Head. He is survived by his sister, Eva Lucille Young and her husband Don; his daughter, Sarah Langland; his son, Jarred Cartwright and grandson Haven Lee Cartwright; Sam also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will never forget his wild spirit and legendary ways.
